New World International School Signs into Agreement with SEK Education Group

Muscat: New World International School and SEK Education Group (SEK) have recently entered into a partnership agreement, marking a significant milestone for both institutions. The agreement, signed on Wednesday, June 15, 2023, designates SEK as the new operator responsible for managing and strategizing the school’s operations, effective from August 2023.

Mashael Fairooz, Founding Partner at JEO Capital Management expressed that, “This announcement is a step towards an exciting and great partnership between NWIS and SEK Education Group. SEK has an impressive track record managing a group of educational institutions in various countries around the world. Today, we are proud to announce that NWIS is a part of this group.” She added, “This agreement aims to add significant value to the education sector of the Sultanate, enabling NWIS’ learners to reach the highest summits in their future careers, passions and individual skills and abilities.”

The official signing was attended by Dr. Yasser Al Zadjali, the chairman of JEO capital Management, Naaman Al Naamani, Board member of NWIS, Argüelles Carrera, José Antonio Canciller and Head of Administration from the Spanish Embassy, and Alejandro Delso, Director General Strategy and Innovation at SEK.

SEK Education Group, renowned globally for its K-12 schools, brings over 130 years of experience and expertise in educational consulting, leadership, innovation, and management. Their involvement is expected to contribute significantly to the future success of the school. The Spanish Embassy “is pleased with the signing of this agreement by SEK, which has 13 schools (six in Spain, one in France, Ireland, Qatar, Riyadh, and Bahrain and one IB-curriculum online school) and the Camilo José Cela University (UCJC) in Madrid with 15,000 students, and a breadth of experience and history before establishing themselves in Oman. Likewise, it wishes to SEK the greatest success in its future projects in Oman, as well as consolidating its presence in the Gulf region, where it is already present in Qatar (since 2013), Saudi Arabia (since 2021), Bahrain (since 2023) and now Oman (2023).”
