North Al Batinah a hub for sports investment: Governor


Sohar: His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, confirmed that North Al Batinah Governorate has the capabilities that enable it to host many sporting events and activities, including Arab, Asian and continental championships.

In an interview with the Oman News Agency, His Excellency said that investment in sporting events, with the ingredients for success in the North Al Batinah Governorate, will continue, given the successes achieved by previous events and the success achieved now by the Second West Asian Volleyball Club Championship and the public attendance it is witnessing, in addition to other events in various games. All of these reasons make us coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, federations, sports committees and the private sector in order to hold various tournaments in the North Al Batinah Governorate in general and the Sohar State in particular.

His Excellency stated that the Office of the Governor of North Al Batinah puts all its capabilities towards the success of any sporting event adopted by the official federations and committees, along with the rest of the government agencies in the governorate.

His Excellency added that the important thing for the success of sporting events for various games, whether team or individual games, is the audience and the facilities, and perhaps everyone is now watching that attendance to follow the matches of the Second West Asian Club Volleyball Championship, and in the North Al Batinah Governorate there are many halls for various games, football fields and other games halls. In clubs, including the Sohar Sports Complex.
