North Al Batinah Maritime Festival Concludes

Sohar: The North Al Batinah Marine Festival activities were concluded this evening at Al Manial Park in the Wilayat of Sohar, under the auspices of Sayyid Sulaiman bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers.

Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, explained that the success of the festival and the achievement of its objectives, which lasted for nearly a month, was through clear indicators, the most important of which is the activation of the commercial and marketing movement for the owners of productive and needy families and small and medium enterprises.

The number of beneficiaries reached (138) families and institutions, while the number of the participating artisans (156) craftsmen, while the number of participants working in the festival from the owners of stalls and traditional crafts reached (415) participants.

He added: We have been keen to facilitate the participation of these families and institutions, and the financial return of productive families has reached approximately (40) thousand Omani riyals. The festival (384,474) visitors is realistic evidence of this success.

The closing ceremony included a nautical lyrical operetta that included five paintings in addition to the closing painting, where the first painting represented the lives of sailors and the passion that occurs in their daily lives, and the second painting included a farewell painting in which the sailors’ families and the children of their and nearby lanes gather to see them off, while the third painting was represented by the painting of diving and how pearl diving operations are carried out. The fourth painting was entitled (On the Promise We Meet) and the fifth painting was dedicated to the captains and merchants, then the closing painting and the fireworks.
