Investment Agreements Signed to Restore Historic Areas in Ibra
Ibra: North A’Sharqiyah Governorate organised a meeting today to discuss a project for the renovation of historical neighbourhoods.
Mahmoud bin Yahya Al Dhuhli, Governor of North A’Sharqiyah, said the project aims to preserve Omani heritage through the restoration of historical neighbourhoods that reflect national identity.
He noted that the initiative reflects cooperation between the public and private sectors, while encouraging community-driven efforts to invest in heritage sites and transform them into sustainable economic and tourism assets.
The meeting included a presentation on successful community initiatives in the governorate, which are expected to contribute to job creation while preserving the historical character of archaeological sites.
On the sidelines of the meeting, a number of investment agreements were signed to enhance returns from endowment and heritage assets.
The agreements included offering land plots for investment in commercial and economic projects, as well as the renovation of facilities in Al Qanatir ancient village in the Wilayat of Ibra.
