Notice to users of prepaid electricity meters in Oman

Muscat: Muscat Electricity Distribution Company issued a notice to prepaid electricity meters users in the Governorate of Muscat and based on the requirements of re-directing subsidies and the new tariff, that for the purpose of applying the new tariff, the subscriber must enter the tariff change code, which is issued with the balance recharge code, for one time only. The number of the code will be up to 80 digits.

The company also clarified that subscribers of prepaid electricity meters (Sabiq) in the governorate of Muscat can request and recharge for their meters through the electronic channels provided by the company throughout the governorate.

In the statement said : Dear prepaid (Sabiq) customers. We would like to draw you attention that an update has been conducted in the prepaid system, therefore; the upcoming recharge code will contains 80 digits and that will be for one time only where the next time recharge codes will be as usual.

This step comes to make it easier for the subscriber to obtain the filling of the electric meter from multiple places in the Governorate of Muscat.

The company confirmed that subscribers of prepaid electricity meters (SABBEQ) can request and recharge for their meters through the company’s website and instant conversation via WhatsApp with Noor on the number 72727770, and the company also provides other electronic channels by calling the call center on the toll-free number 80070008 (automatic response system) ), ONEIC BILL & PAY application, its payment machines, the Shehab application for smart phones, the service application of the OIFC company and its branches and payment machines affiliated to it, and “Ahlan” stores in Oman Oil stations and “Noor Hypermarket” stores.
