OAAAQA cancels institutional accreditation of Sur University College

OAAAQA cancels institutional accreditation certificate granted to Sur University College

Sur: In accordance with the terms of reference of the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) contained in (Appendix 1) of Royal Decree No. “9/2021” regarding the role of the Authority in accrediting public and private higher education institutions and programmes, in accordance with the standards and procedures established by the Authority.

The Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) issued a decision to cancel the institutional accreditation certificate granted to Sur University College in September 2022. The Authority’s Resolution No. “17/2024” included in its first article the cancellation of the institutional accreditation status.

The decision also indicated the necessity of the college’s commitment not to publish anything that would mislead the public regarding the canceled accreditation status and failure to indicate in its publications, documents, website, etc., anything indicating that it continues to enjoy institutional accreditation status.

It is worth noting that the aforementioned decision of the Authority was based on the college’s violation of the regulations and policies issued by the Authority and its failure to report several fundamental changes that occurred to it that had a direct impact on the status of institutional accreditation that was previously granted to it.
