OCCI appreciates the decision of Supreme Committee in Support of SMEs


Muscat: His Excellency Eng. Reda bin Juma Al Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), welcomed the recent decisions issued by the Supreme Committee charged with examining a mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Corona virus (Covid 19) in the context of supporting private sector institutions and facilitating the process of recovery for these institutions.

Al Saleh added that the exemptions issued by the Supreme Committee, in addition to urging banks and finance companies to cooperate with affected borrowers, especially small and medium enterprises, and reschedule loans without fees, this will contribute to stimulating the economy and developing the private sector, ensuring the continuity of companies, especially those going through a critical stage, and helping them to withstand.

He expressed the Chamber’s appreciation towards the high response of government agencies to the demands of the Chamber’s  to support and facilities to private sector institutions during this crisis.
