Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rowas assumes presidency of the Federation of GCC Chambers

Muscat: The Board of Directors of the Federation of Gulf Chambers begins today its twenty-third session, headed by His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President of the Federation of Gulf Chambers.

His Excellency stressed the work to enhance cooperation between the private sector in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, leading to the growth of trade and investment exchange between them and accelerating the completion of joint projects.

He said that the future visions of the GCC countries share their interest in the private sector to lead national economies. This places the Union and the Gulf Chambers responsible for coordination and setting cooperation frameworks to enable the private sector to contribute to achieving the aspirations of Gulf economic integration and to initiate the creation of opportunities that maximize the benefit of the attractive potentials and natural resources that the GCC countries enjoy, especially in the sectors relied upon to achieve economic diversification.

His Excellency Faisal Al-Rawas stated that there are projects that deserve to receive attention from the Union and the member chambers, as they contribute to achieving economic integration and push the Union to new horizons to achieve the desired goal of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

He pointed out the importance of the Union’s current and future phase in the initiative to redouble efforts to advance the Union’s journey, which was launched at the beginning of 1979, to enhance the Union’s role in line with the hopes placed on the Gulf Chambers of Commerce by the leaders and peoples of the GCC countries and the Gulf private sector, and to achieve its vision. In enhancing and accelerating the pace of economic integration among the GCC countries to reach their economic unity.
