Oman SME Committee Plans Expansion of “Estidamah” Platform

Muscat:  The Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Committee at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today discussed proposals to enhance the services of the “Estidamah” platform during a meeting held at the Chamber’s headquarters in Muscat.

The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Ahmed Amer Al Maslahi, Chairman of the Committee.

The committee reviewed the progress of the platform and efforts to attract specialised offers and benefits for entrepreneurs, in addition to proposals aimed at simplifying and accelerating project registration procedures.

Discussions also addressed setting specific timeframes to attract a larger number of projects during the initial launch phase, as well as expanding the platform’s scope to include a wider segment of users, while maintaining its focus on supporting Omani entrepreneurs managing their own businesses.

Meanwhile, the committee’s task force for regulating recruitment offices held a separate meeting to discuss key challenges facing the sector.

The task force reviewed a platform designed to regulate recruitment offices, examining its mechanisms and role in organising expatriate labour recruitment to enhance efficiency and address related challenges.

The meeting also explored ways to increase the participation of local institutions in projects linked to In-Country Value (ICV).
