Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organize Oman-India Investor Forum
Muscat: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will organize on 20th January 2024 the Oman-India Investor Forum, which will be held on the sidelines of the International Accountants Forum.
Dr. Abdullah bin Masoud Al Harithi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: The forum comes as the strong historical relations linking the Sultanate of Oman and India have received a strong boost from the sublime visit made by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik – to Republic of India and his meetings with Indian leaders and a number of business owners, during which the features of the next phase of economic integration efforts between the two countries were crystallized, and the promotion of trade and investment exchange between them, especially with the firm desire of the two countries to sustain growth and prosperity through the Oman vision 2040 as well as Amrit Kaal.
He pointed out in the press conference that holding the forum comes within the role of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and through its strategic directions consistent with the (Oman 2040) vision, to contribute to expanding the base of economic diversification and improving the business environment in the Sultanate of Oman, explaining that the forum provides a platform for Omani and Indian companies to explore… Through it, it provides investment opportunities in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, healthcare and tourism, highlighting specific projects and initiatives, and promoting discussions on innovation, technology transfer and cooperation in emerging sectors, with a focus on knowledge exchange and best industrial practices.
The forum will review the possibilities of cooperation and partnership between the two sides through a number of working papers with the participation of a number of experienced professionals in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, healthcare, tourism and manufacturing, in addition to representatives of trade unions, business chambers and industry groups. The forum discusses prospects for cooperation between entrepreneurs and representatives of emerging companies in the two countries. It also discusses the latest trends and opportunities for cooperation and investment in the field of technology, innovation and digital transformation.
The forum will also be keen to discuss trade policies, customs tariffs, and measures to facilitate cross-border trade with the aim of creating a conducive environment for further communication and building relationships, as well as highlighting successful cooperation and investment success stories between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India, which inspires confidence among potential investors. . It is expected that a number of investors, capital owners, CEOs, business owners, and executives in both countries, and companies interested in exploring investment opportunities will participate in the forum.
