Muscat:  Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, will organize next Wednesday in Muscat a workshop titled “Enhancing Competitiveness in the Transport and Logistics Sector”.

The opening of the workshop will be held under the auspices of Eng. Khamis Mohammed Al Shammakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Transport.

The workshop will review the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman in developing the infrastructure of the transport and logistics sector, investment opportunities, and the role of partnership between the government and private sectors in developing this sector. This is in addition to discussing mechanisms to elevate the ranking of the Sultanate of Oman in international indicators associated with the sector.

This workshop comes as part of a series of workshops organized by OCCI within the framework of strengthening partnership and integration between the public and private sectors, and examining developmental and investment challenges and opportunities in various economic sectors. This contributes to improving the business environment, expanding the economic diversification base, empowering the private sector, and enhancing its role as an essential partner in achieving economic development targets and the Oman Vision 2040.
