Muscat: The Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) will celebrate next Wednesday the official inauguration of the Rima water treatment plant, at a cost of RO 87 million.

The Rima water treatment plant represents an environmentally friendly alternative to the disposal of water associated with oil extraction, and will reduce gas emissions by 48,000 tons annually. Where vegetation is used to purify water from oil pollutants; What contributes to creating a desert oasis for wildlife.
It is worth noting that the Rima water treatment plant is capable of treating about 60,000 cubic meters per day of water associated with oil production operations. which is higher than the project’s design capacity of 40,000 cubic meters per day; This reduces the huge energy consumption by 10 gigawatts.
