OHRC participates in Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions meeting in Geneva

Geneva: A delegation from the Omani Human Rights Commission (OHRC) today took part in the meetings and conference of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRI participates in Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions meeting in Geneva) in Geneva.

The meeting discussed the strategic plan of the Global Alliance, the challenges facing national institutions tasked with human rights and means of enhancing cooperation between regional networks affiliated to the GANHRI.

Oman’s delegation, headed by Dr. Rashid Hamad Al Balushi, Chairman of the OHRC, also participated in a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions that was held on the sidelines of the GANHRI conference in Geneva.

The meeting studied the programme of the Arab Network for 2024 and reviewed the latest efforts and developments of the Palestinian cause.

It expressed support for the Independent Commission for Human Rights in the State of Palestine.

It also discussed means of updating the strategy of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions for the upcoming years.
