Oman Across Ages Museum Marks International Museum Day

Manah: The International Museum Day, which falls on 18 May of every year, was marked today at an event held at Oman Across Ages Museum.

This year’s International Museum Day is themed “Museums, Sustainability and Well-being”. This day contributes to enhancing the position of museums in society and highlighting their vital role in preserving the cultural and historical heritage of humanity.

The celebration was held under the patronage of Eng. Ibrahim Said Al Kharousi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Heritage.

The activities of the event held at Oman Across Ages Museum included a discussion session titled “Omani museums: A Sustainable Investment To Achieve Prosperity”. The session focused on the role of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the attention it accords to museums of all sorts.

Several working papers were also presented during the event. Those papers cover a range of topics, such as the role of museums in achieving sustainable development goals and the use of museum writings. -ONA
