Oman airport sees passenger traffic drop 18.4% till October 2021

Muscat: The total number of passengers through the Sultanate of Oman’s airports at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, Sohar Airport and Duqm Airport by the end of October 2021 reached 3,349,503 passengers, a decrease of 18.4 percent compared to the same period in 2020 of 4,107,142 passengers. According to statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.

The data showed that the number of flights through the airports of the Sultanate of Oman reached 30,375 flights, including 21,466 international flights at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport and Sohar Airport, and 8,909 domestic flights at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, Sohar Airport and Sohar Airport. Duqm, compared to 34,873 flights, including 29,999 international flights at Muscat International Airport and Salalah and Sohar airports, and 4,874 domestic flights at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, Sohar Airport and Duqm Airport by the end of October 2020.

The data indicated that the Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationalities were the most numerous travelers during the month of October 2021 at Muscat International Airport, as the number of passengers of Indian nationality reached 98,556 passengers, and of Bangladeshi nationality 36,849 passengers, while of Pakistani nationality they reached 29,000 and 523 passengers.
