Oman Airports report record passenger numbers

Muscat: The total number of passengers travelling through airports of the Sultanate of Oman until the end of April 2023 grew by 81% to reach 4,209,846 as against 2,324,007 passengers during the corresponding period in 2022, according to the latest reported preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and information (NCSI).

The total number of passengers via Muscat International Airport stood at 3,792,212 at the end of April 2023 compared to 1,984,428 passengers at the end of April 2022, marking a rise of 91.1%.

The total number of flights at Muscat International Airport also rose by 78% to 28,939 flights at the end of April 2023, from 16,262 flights for the corresponding period in 2022.

Meanwhile, the number of passengers via Salalah Airport increased by 36.8% to reach 390,355 passengers on board 2,842 flights, with an increase in the number of flights amounting to 30.9%, compared to the same period in 2022.

The total number of passengers via Sohar Airport reached 5,669 passengers on board 86 flights, while the number of passengers via Duqm Airport reached 21,610 passengers on 204 flights.
