Oman and Austria Hold 2nd Round of Political Consultations

Vienna: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Austria held today the second round of political consultations session.

The Omani side was chaired by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, whereas the Austrian side was chaired by Gregor W. Koessler, Director of the Political Affairs at the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.

The session discussed relations between Oman and Austria, as the two sides stressed their keenness on promoting them on various fields. They also exchanged views on a set of regional and international issues of common concern.

The session was attended by Yousef Ahmed Al Jabri, Ambassador of Oman to Austria and a number of officials from both sides.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Al Harthy met with Alexander Schallenberg, Federal Minister for European and International Affairs and Peter Launsky-Tiffenthal, Secretary General of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.

The two meetings discussed aspects of the joint cooperation between Oman and Austria on ways to boost them in different areas. Views on various issues of common concern were also exchanged during the meetings.
