Oman and Malaysia Explore Means of Boosting Investments, Exchanging Expertise

Kuala Lumpur: Muhsin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals met here today with Mohamad Alamin, Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting explored means of boosting investments and exchanging expertize in the fields of energy and minerals.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed several matters of mutual interest. They also touched on investments in the upstream and downstream sectors of oil and gas, as well as utilizing advanced technologies offered by Malaysian companies.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Al Abbas Ibrahim Al Harthy, Ambassador of Oman to Malaysia and representatives from Oman Investment Authority (OIA) and thePublic Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ).

Furthermore, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and his accompanying delegation went on tour of several facilities. This visit was organized by PETRONAS, the Malaysian integrated energy company.

During the visit, members of the delegation were briefed on the growth journey of PETRONAS, which is a leading oil facilities company.

Moreover, the delegation held a meeting with executive leaders from PETRONAS. The meeting discussed means of increasing the company’s investments in Oman, especially in the sectors of gas, research and renewable energy. -ONA
