Malaysian PM Praises Oman’s Mediation Efforts in Call with Foreign Minister
Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, received a telephone call today from Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.
During the call, the two sides exchanged views on the current regional escalation, underscoring the convergence of their countries’ positions on prioritizing efforts to halt the Israeli-American military campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
They also discussed the ramifications of the conflict, including the targeting of several neighboring states and the broader implications for supply routes, maritime navigation and the global economy.
The Malaysian Prime Minister expressed deep appreciation for the wise policy of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and commended the diplomatic and humanitarian role played by Oman, particularly its exceptional mediation efforts in support of regional peace and security.
For his part, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to its consistent and balanced foreign policy, emphasizing its steadfast approach of prioritizing diplomatic and peaceful solutions above all other considerations.
