Oman and Singapore Discuss Cooperation in Quality of School Education

Singapore: “Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Educational Quality Assurance” today held meetings with the Singapore Institute of Education and the Singaporean Ministry of Education.

The two sides discussed ways of ensuring the quality of school education and reviewed the procedures and policies applied in Singapore to improve the performance of public schools.

The meetings took place within the context of a visit being made to Singapore by an Omani delegation headed by Dr. Jokha Abdullah Al Shukaili, CEO of Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Educational Quality Assurance.

The Authority’s delegation visited the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), one of Singapore’s leading institutions in providing vocational and technical programmes. The ITE offers more than 77 vocational programmes and awards a two-year technical diploma in the fields of health, engineering, trade, service sector, energy, agriculture and beautification.

The Authority’s visit to Singapore stems from a drive to learn about the best international practices and methods to improve educational quality, with special emphasis on upgradine school education. Towards this end, the Authority’s officials conferred with experts and specialists of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), among other global institutions. The OECD meeting took place in Paris in November 2023.   – ONA
