    Oman’s MTCIT issues guidelines for jet skis operators, recreational marine units

    Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has issued an alert to owners and operators of jet-skis and recreational marine units to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

    MTCIT said: Dear Owner/Operator of jet skis and recreational marine units to provide a safe environment for your customers please adhere to the following:

    It is not allowed to ride jet skis and marine sports units after sunset.

    Commitment to a maximum capacity of eight bikes in one location.

    Monitoring and preventing its use in a way that puts individuals at risk.

    Providing life jackets during use.

    Provide a means of communication for emergency cases.

    Check the weather beforehand.

    It is not allowed to go beyond the designated area for use.

    The presence of water bike or a boat for emergency cases.

    Providing a rescue crew and a first aid kit.

    It is not allowed to ride water bikes and recreational marine units to those under the age of 16, unless accompanied by an adult.
