Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Information, represented by the Song Selection Committee announces the opening of request to submit national songs

In a statement Oman news agency said: The Ministry of Information, represented by the Song Selection Committee, announced the opening of requests to submit national songs through a link on the ministry’s website, as part of its efforts to provide the Omani music library with new productions and talents.

The Song Selection Committee clarified to the Oman News Agency a number of controls for selecting these songs in order to preserve the Omani musical identity, including the word, melody, performance and directing.

The harmony of the meanings of the words and the extent to which they contain rhythms from the Omani arts, in addition to the live playing of various musical instruments, and that the output is commensurate with its subject.

The Song Selection Committee confirmed that it would not accept any registration requests directly to the committee or in person to one of its members, except through the link on the Ministry of Information website by  clicking here.
