Oman’s MCSY announces winners of Tawasul Short Films Award 2023

Muscat: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY), represented by the General Directorate of Youth, announced the winners of the Tawasul Short Film Award Competition in the first session 2023.

The ceremony, which was held in Muscat Governorate, was sponsored by His Excellency Basil bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth, coinciding with World Cinema Day.

The first places were won by 5 short films out of 9 qualifying films. The first place was withheld, while the second place went to “Uncertainty”, while the third place went to “The Space of an Idea”, the fourth place went to “Best One”, and the fifth place went to “The Space of an Idea”. It went to Dr. Heba, and the incentive award went to the Fund.

Abdullah bin Habib Al-Muaini, Chairman of the Jury, said that the Tawasul Award for Short Films, in the first session 2023, focused on three topics represented by balanced dialogue, future skills, and self-employment, to consolidate the idea of ​​dialogue spaces (real and virtual), and present ideas and opinions, in addition to achieving effective communication and interaction with… others to convey the main idea and message.

He explained that the evaluation of the winning films was based on several criteria represented in the basic idea, the way of expressing the idea in an artistic manner, and the qualitative nature of the dialogue, indicating that through the participating films, the jury was able to conclude that the young people now have sufficient understanding and awareness in balanced dialogue and skills. the future.
