Oman bans work visas for expats, list of professions announced, Ministry of Labour

Muscat: The Minister of Labor, issued decision No. 8/2021 regarding the regulation of practicing of some profession and activities based on the labour law promulgated by Royal Decree 35/2003 and Royal Decree 89/2020 that established the ministry of labour and defined its organization structure.

Practicing all the following professions and activities is restricted to: private sector establishments to Omanis only.

1, Financial and administrative profession in Insurance companies and companies operating in brokerage activities .

2, All professions selling of new and used vehicles

3, Account auditing professional in auto agencies.

4, The professions of Selling, money exchange, accounting, management and arranging goods in stores operating in malls.

5, All accounting professions in the activities of selling new and used vehicles at auto dealerships

6, The activity of Selling spare parts for new vehicles belonging to auto agencies

The licenses for number of non-Omani workers in these professionals will not be renewed after their expiry.
