Oman Broadband Marathon in Barka kicks off

Barka: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in cooperation with the Omani Athletics Federation and Sabco Sports Company, organized the Omani Broadband Marathon race at Al Nahda Resort in the Wilayat of Barka in the South Al Batinah Governorate in its first edition, sponsored by the Oman Broadband Company in partnership with the Omani Broadband Foundation.

The Governorates Marathon comes in line with the “Oman Vision 2040” as a translation of the strategic objectives that the Omani Sports Strategy seeks to achieve, with the aim of enhancing the values ​​of community partnership and creating high-quality and sustainable community sporting events, as well as building public awareness of this type of sports and racing.

The number of participants in this edition reached 1,150 participants, represented by 473 in the children’s category for the age group from 7 to 12 years for a distance of two kilometers, in addition to 353 competitors for a distance of 6 kilometers for the age group of 13 years and above, and 324 competitors for a distance of 10 kilometers for the age group of 18 years and above. above.
