Oman, Brunei Discuss Enhancing Arabic Language Education

Oman Delegation Reviews Arabic Language Twinning Program in Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan:  The Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam discussed ways to support and enhance Arabic language education in educational institutions, within the framework of joint educational cooperation between the two countries.

The discussions took place during a visit by a delegation from the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science to the capital of Brunei Darussalam, Bandar Seri Begawan.

The visit included extensive meetings with supervisors of schools implementing the Twinning Program in Brunei, during which the current status of the program’s implementation was reviewed. Participants discussed the most prominent challenges encountered during previous stages and proposed developmental visions aimed at increasing the program’s efficiency and enhancing its educational and cultural impact.

During the meetings, the two sides agreed on a clear action plan for the upcoming phase of the program, outlining implementation mechanisms to ensure its sustainability and expand the scope of its benefits.

The discussions also addressed ways to promote a culture of dialogue and linguistic and cultural exchange between students and teachers through the use of modern communication tools. This aims to create a stimulating educational environment that fosters creative and critical thinking skills, while strengthening confidence in the use of the Arabic language in practical and daily life contexts, within a framework based on cooperation and constructive cultural exchange.

Both sides affirmed that the Twinning Program represents a promising platform for the exchange of educational knowledge and expertise between educational institutions in the two countries, noting that its outcomes will contribute to the development of educational practices and enhance the presence of the Arabic language as a bridge for cultural and intellectual communication between peoples.
