Oman, Brunei Hold Consultations Session

Bandar Seri Begawan: The 22nd consultations session between the foreign ministries of the Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam was held today at Brunei’s capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan.

The Omani side was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Brunei side was headed by Pengiran Norhashimah binti Pengiran Mohd, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The session reviewed bilateral relations in fields of economic and investment cooperation and means of augmenting them, especially in areas of logistics, clean energy, green hydrogen, cultural exchange and educational exchange. The two sides also discussed several regional and international matters of mutual interest.

On the sidelines of the visit, Sheikh Khalifa Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs met with Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Acting Director of Brunei Investment Agency.

Al Harthy and his accompanying delegation also visited Golden Corporation company, an affiliate of the Oman Brunei Investment Company (OBIC).

Golden Corporation operates in the fish farming field. The session and the meetings were attended by Irma Said Al Kathiri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam.
