Muscat: Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issues clarification on flights coming from India

In a statement Civil Aviation Authority said: The Civil Aviation Authority issued a clarification in which it indicated that flights between the Sultanate and the Republic of India operate in accordance with the decisions issued by the Supreme Committee to deal with developments resulting from the spread of the Covid-19 virus, and that the main objective of operating these flights is:

Transfer of citizens of the Republic of India wishing to return to their country.

Shipping of health supplies, goods and merchandise essential to the Sultanate.

Facilitating the return of citizens, diplomats and health workers from the Republic of India to the Sultanate.

The authority stated that the competent authorities in the Sultanate represented by the Civil Aviation Authority, the Royal Oman Police and the Ministry of Health are monitoring the small number of Omanis, diplomats and health workers coming to the Sultanate on these flights, and those who are not allowed to board the next plane except after being examined before traveling and making sure of their negative results, then they are returned Examine them upon their arrival in the Sultanate, and they are quarantined in accordance with health controls, and re-examined for a third time on the last day of the quarantine period.

It also explained that the following statistics show the number and category of passengers arriving from India on flights operated between the Republic of India and the Sultanate for the period from 7 to 13 June 2021 AD as follows:

*Oman Air: Fourteen (14) flights, a total of fifty-eight (58) passengers arrived on it, and they are fourteen (14) nationals and forty-four (44) foreign passengers, with an average of less than five (5) passengers per flight, all of them from the excluded categories.

*SalamAir: only one (1) flight, a total of two (2) Omani passengers arriving on it.

* Air India: eight (8) flights, a total of thirty-four (34) passengers arrived, who are one (1) citizen and thirty-three (33) foreign passengers, with an average of less than five (5) passengers only per flight, and all of them are of the excluded categories.

* Air India Express: eleven (11) flights, a total of forty-seven (47) passengers arrived, and they are two (2) citizens and forty-five (45) foreign passengers at a rate of less than five (5) passengers only per flight, all of whom are from the excluded categories
