Oman Camel Racing Federation’s Annual 2026 Races Kick Off in Barka

Barka: The Royal Camel Corps track in Al-Falij, Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate, witnessed today the launch of the annual race competitions of the Oman Camel Racing Federation for 2026, which will continue for four days.

The competitions on the first day were dedicated to the “Haqaiq” age category, with 24 races held over a distance of 4 kilometers, amid strong participation from camel owners and enthusiasts from across the Sultanate of Oman.

The results of the races were as follows:

In the first round, Wizara claimed first place for its owner Hamed bin Hamoud Al Busaidi.
The second round was won by Al Rahawiya for its owner Hamad bin Mohammed Al Wahibi, while Sameh secured first place in the third round for the same owner.
In the fourth round, Al Dhabi came first for its owner Hamad bin Muslim Al Jahafi, and Samha won the fifth round for Mubarak bin Amer Al Wahibi.

In the sixth round, Al-Mared claimed first place for Nasser bin Mayouf Al-Dara’i, while Khayra won the seventh round for Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Saadi.
Marmoqa secured first place in the eighth round for Saleh bin Qasim Al-Balushi, Al-Sadawi won the ninth round for Sami bin Hamdi Al-Dara’i, and Arbah topped the tenth round for Ailan bin Saeed Al-Muhairi.

In the eleventh round, Hashma finished first for Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Maliki, while Najd won the twelfth round for Masoud bin Saif Al-Saadi.
Khayra claimed victory in the thirteenth round for Saeed bin Salem Al-Muqbali, and Marmooq won the fourteenth round for Rashid bin Ali Al-Awaisi.
Rimas secured first place in the fifteenth round for Al-Saghir bin Fayel Al-Zar’i.

In the sixteenth round, Al-Hakim achieved first place for its owner Badr bin Hamad Al-Dura’i, while Naba’ won the seventeenth round for Mubarak bin Saeed Al-Makhibi.
Ghazi claimed victory in the eighteenth round for Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Amri, Al-Shaiba topped the nineteenth round for Abdullah bin Al-Abdan Al-Maliki, and Al-Baz won the twentieth round for Mohammed bin Salem Al-Wahibi.

In the twenty-first round, Al-Dheeba finished first for Saleh bin Hamad Al-Maharbi, while Shaheen won the twenty-second round for Zaid bin Suleiman Al-Qanoubi.
Al-Azoum claimed first place in the twenty-third round for Rashid bin Nasser Al-Zar’i, and Marwah concluded the day’s races by winning the twenty-fourth round for Hamid bin Rashid Al-Hajri.

The annual championship continues over the coming days with races across different age categories, reaffirming the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to preserving camel racing as an authentic cultural and sporting heritage.
