Oman Celebrates World Consumer Rights Day

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Consumer Protection Authority, participated in the celebration of World Consumer Day to promote basic consumer rights, respect them in obtaining fair and sustainable markets, and the importance of solidarity and cooperation between all parties to the relationship, including consumers, suppliers, government and private agencies.

This global annual celebration represents a periodic station that aims to highlight the importance of solidarity and cooperation between all economic, social and political elements of society with consumers. To achieve real support for government efforts aimed at providing a protective umbrella for the consumer through the exercise of its oversight role, and its sincere participation in the establishment of a sound consumer culture based on integrated rights that the consumer lives with full awareness of all his requirements, and a guarantor of preserving his rights and not affecting them.

The authority has implemented several programs, activities and various events in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, which contribute to raising the level of consumer knowledge of their rights in a number of institutions, schools and colleges, and has held mini-exhibitions that include displaying models of some commodities withdrawn from the market, adulterated and not conforming to specifications and standards.

It is worth noting that the countries of the world celebrate the “World Consumer Rights Day”, which was approved by the United Nations on March 15 of each year. .
