Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, chaired here today the 2nd meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Cybersecurity.
In his speech, Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology said that the cybersecurity field saw many developments in the previous decades. This field, he pointed out, has become vital with the increased use of the internet and the emergence of nascent technologies and the internet of things (IoT).
Moreover, the meeting touched on a spectrum of topics, namely approving the structure and tasks of the cybersecurity ministerial committee and approving the executive plan of the committee, among other topics. – ONA
