Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman today chaired the 7th preparatory meeting of the GCC Food Safety Committee. The committee comprises undersecretaries of ministries concerned with food safety in the GCC.
The Sultanate of Oman was represented during the meeting by Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for Agriculture.
The meeting discussed the unified food law of the GCC, the GCC centre for assessing food hazards and the GCC guide for control on imported food, among other topics.
The meeting was attended by Khalid Ali Al Sunaidi, Assistant Secretary General for Economic and Development Affairs at the Secretariat General of the GCC. – ONA
