Oman chairs GCC foreign ministers’ meeting with their counterparts in the Association of Caribbean States

New York: The Sultanate of Oman today chaired a meeting of GCC foreign ministers with their counterparts in the Association of Caribbean States. The meeting was held within the context of the 78th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York.

At the meeting, Oman was represented by Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Chairman of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council.

The meeting was attended by the GCC Secretary General. The two sides stressed their common keenness to engage in active cooperation, especially in economic, commercial and tourism fields. They agreed to exchange expertise and promote investments in various sectors, including food security, energy and the environment.

The two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) and espoused a joint action plan between the GCC and the Association of Caribbean States. The meeting identified the main goals and mechanisms for political dialogue, trade facilitation and promotion of investment and tourism cooperation.
