Oman, China sign Institutional Cooperation Protocol on Import and Export Food Safety

Beijing: The Sultanate of Oman and the People’s Republic of China today signed the Institutional Cooperation Protocol for the Safety of Exported and Imported Food.

This protocol aims to confirm the safety and quality of Omani fish products exported to the People’s Republic of China, and to confirm their conformity with health standards in force in China.

This step is an important addition to the list of countries importing Omani fish, and strengthens the position of the Sultanate of Oman as a reliable and desirable supplier of high-quality fish products that has achieved great success in opening new markets around the world, including the European Common Market, the United States of America, the Russian Federation, Brazil, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and several countries.

This signing comes within the framework of the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts to enhance the field of food security as an engine for economic development, expand export opportunities, and enhance food safety and quality of Omani products, and reflects the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to meeting global standards and providing healthy products that conform to international requirements.

This protocol is expected to enhance economic cooperation between the two friendly countries and open new horizons for trade and exchange in the field of food security.
