Yanqul: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has completed construction of a protection wall in Al Buwayridah area in the Wilayat of Yanqul, A’Dhahirah Governorate.
Work is ongoing on another protection wall project in the Al Bilad—Al Madam area, where implementation has reached 30 percent completion. The projects form part of efforts to reduce flood risks and protect agricultural lands.
Both projects are implemented through a community partnership model, with local residents contributing 80 percent of the total cost, while the ministry covers the remaining 20 percent. The initiative aims to safeguard farms from soil erosion and the impact of wadi flows.
The completed protection wall in Al Buwayridah extends 150 metres in length and rises to a height of three metres, constructed وفق approved engineering standards.
The Al Bilad—Al Madam protection wall spans 1,700 metres in length and stands three metres high, with work progressing according to the planned schedule.
