Berlin: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, concluded this evening its participation as an official partner in the activities of the Berlin International Tourism Exchange, which came in its 24th session under the title “Discover Oman” and witnessed the participation of more than 160 countries.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation to the exhibition was headed by His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and included His Excellency Azzan bin Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Tourism, a number of officials from the Ministry, and representatives of travel, tourism, hotel and aviation companies participating in the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion, which reached an area of 800 square metres, with the participation of about 70 people.
The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the Berlin International Tourism Exhibition also witnessed the launch of Oman Post, affiliated with the Asyad Group, a set of stamps focusing on the most important tourist sites in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the launch of the book on the art of Omani cooking in English.
His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, head of the delegation participating in the Berlin International Tourism Exhibition, expressed his happiness with the results achieved throughout the exhibition days. In terms of the flow of visitors witnessed by the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion, and the interest from various companies, whether participating or from abroad, that wish to enter into partnerships with Omani companies participating in the pavilion, in addition to the good impressions of the pavilion and the participation by official German authorities, companies and partners working in this sector.
His Excellency said: All that has been achieved has one goal, which is highlighting the tourism components of the Sultanate of Oman, raising the levels of tourism flow, the financial impact, and the sustainability of job opportunities in order to contribute to the growth of the national economy through the tourism sector, which is one of the important sectors in the diversification program. Economic. His Excellency the Minister of Heritage and Tourism indicated that he has now begun thinking about the next participation in the exhibition.
With the aim of maximizing the upcoming participation and achieving additional gains, especially since the experience that emerged from the current participation in the exhibition clarified various dimensions that will be employed to ensure that the upcoming participation will be extremely effective in order to raise performance and achieve the required gains.
At the conclusion of his statement, His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi thanked all government agencies and private sector institutions representing the tourism sectors that contributed to achieving the resounding and honorable success of the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in the 2024 Berlin International Tourism Exhibition.
