Muscat: Oman Corrosion and Material Innovation Summit 2024 Conference will kick off on Monday to showcase the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts in the field of metal corrosion and marine industries.

The summit is organised by Raya Services and Projects and will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre over three days.

The opening of the summit will be sponsored by His Excellency Dr. Saeed bin Hamad Al Rubaie, President of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences. The summit discusses the phenomenon of corrosion and rust with the aim of preserving the longevity and reliability of assets and metal components, and examining the latest strategies and most effective solutions for protecting assets in the Sultanate of Oman to resist rust and metal corrosion to ensure the sustainability of projects and infrastructure, enhance public safety, and provide long-term protection for metals, which will result in avoiding major economic losses due to the phenomenon of rust and metal corrosion.

The summit activities will include the presentation of many working papers and visual presentations by experts from different countries of the world, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and expertise and reaching innovative solutions to reduce metal corrosion and its impact on the environment and industry.

The summit will also witness a number of specialized discussion sessions, in addition to a number of technical workshops, and an accompanying exhibition to display the latest technologies in metal processing, paints, insulation, protection from corrosion and rust, monitoring, inspection, testing, material safety, and infrastructure maintenance.

The summit represents a real opportunity to enhance cooperation between academic and industrial sectors to achieve sustainable development in this field, which will preserve the metal structure and assets affected by corrosion and rust, and will benefit the metal assets and infrastructure of the Sultanate of Oman.

The Oman Materials, Corrosion and Technical Readiness Summit is an important platform for researchers and those interested in the field to discuss the latest developments and technologies used in combating metal corrosion.
