Muscat: The joint committee between the State Council and the Shura Council held a joint meeting to discuss items of dispute between the two councils concerning the draft “Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law,” referred by the Council of Ministers.
The items of disputes between the two councils regarding the referred draft law amounted to 16 articles. These differences included articles within the original text of the referred draft law, in addition to a new article introduced by the Shura Council.
The committee reached an agreement on certain articles that were points of disagreement between the two councils, while differences persisted on others. The committee will submit its report for discussion during the joint session between the State Council and the Shura Council.
