Oman deeply concerned by US-UK attack on targets in Yemen

The Sultanate of Oman issues a statement about the US-UK bombing that affected several cities in Yemen

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is following with great concern the developments of US-UK airstrikes that targeted cities in Yemen. Oman denounces this military action taken by friendly countries, while Israel persists in its bombardment, brutal war, siege of Gaza without accountability or punishment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement that the Sultanate of Oman has repeatedly warned of the expansion of the circle of conflict and confrontation in the region as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the occupied Palestinian territories, especially the killing, abuse, destruction and starvation operations against civilians and residents in the Gaza Strip.

The Sultanate of Oman reiterated its position calling for just and comprehensive peace in order to achieve security and stability in the region and revive growth and prosperity for all, calling on all parties to stop the escalation and military operations and focus on addressing the root and real causes of the crisis.

Meanwhile, Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi said: “We are deeply concerned by US / U.K. attack on targets in Yemen. This goes against our advice and will only add fuel to an extremely dangerous situation. I urge all parties to exercise restraint and focus on a ceasefire in Gaza now.”
