Oman, Egypt Discuss Cooperation in Areas of Endowments and Religious Affairs

Muscat: An official session of talks was held in Muscat today between the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf.

The session covered means of enhancing aspects of cooperation in areas of endowments and religious affairs, as well as exchanging expertise.

The Omani side was chaired by Dr. Mohammed Said Al Ma’amari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, whereas Mohamed Mokhtar Goma, Minister of Awqaf chaired the Egyptian side.

During the session, the two sides discussed ways of exchanging expertise and information related to legislations, laws and systems in the fields of awqaf and religious affairs.

They also stressed the importance of coordinating efforts and stances to demonstrate tolerance as a pillar of Islam. They further discussed the potential of exchanging scholars, preachers, researchers, training experiences, publications and research issued by both sides.

During the session, a visual presentation was given on the systems and programmes of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. – ONA
