The Sultanate of Oman was elected President of the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly in Nairobi

Nairobi: The Sultanate of Oman was elected President of the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly at the conclusion of the meeting of the sixth session of the Assembly in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. Among the most prominent decisions was the adoption of the results of the nominations of geopolitical groups for the positions of President, Vice President, and members of the Executive Office.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Agency, was elected President of the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly.

The selection of the Sultanate of Oman as president of the session reflects the extent of the international community’s confidence in it, its pioneering role in protecting the environment and preserving its natural resources, and its position in support of international efforts aimed at preserving the environment.
