Oman embassy in Seoul Celebrates 53rd National Day

Seoul: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Republic of South Korea held a reception on the occasion of the glorious 53rd National Day.

In his speech, His Excellency Sheikh Zakaria bin Hamad Al Saadi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Korea, praised in his speech the existing friendly relations between the two countries that depend on respect, understanding, cooperation and common goals, pointing to the Sultanate of Oman’s plans in the field of zero carbon neutrality and its plans to use renewable energy such as green hydrogen.

For his part, His Excellency Kim O-jin, Deputy Minister of Lands, Infrastructure and Transport, the guest of honor, delivered a speech in which he praised the depth of the existing relations between the two countries and the “Oman 2040” vision, indicating that Korea encourages Omani national projects that aim to diversify industries and transform them into an advanced economy, and that technologies and expertise The various Korean companies owned will contribute to achieving the “Oman 2040” vision, pointing to the memorandum of understanding signed in 2018 regarding cooperation in the field of smart cities in the Duqm Special Economic Zone.

The ceremony was attended by Her Excellency Jung Chun-soo, President and Member of the Korean Parliament and Chair of the Korean-Omani Parliamentary Friendship Committee, a number of government officials and mayors of regions in Seoul, a number of ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries accredited to Korea, businessmen, academics, media professionals, and Oman’s Korean friends, members of the Arab community, and students.
