Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA) is carrying out an exercise to test the readiness of the national plan to combat oil pollution in marine places.
In a statement EA said: The Environment Auhtority, represented by the Environmental Emergency Center, carried out a field exercise to deploy oil pollution control equipment in Bandar Al-Rawdah Marina – Al-Wahda Company, in cooperation with Lamor Middle East.
This exercise came with the aim of testing the readiness of the national plan to combat oil pollution at the first level, developing the capabilities and capabilities of specialists within the authority, and exchanging experiences with the company.
The exercise included some visual presentations on oil pollution, the mechanism of combating oil pollution, the mechanism of using equipment, rubber barriers, oil dispersants, and how to deal with waste. The exercise included operating equipment on the berth with the participation of specialists from within the authority and Lamor Middle East Company.
