Oman expresses solidarity with the Palestinian people

Muscat: The Sultanate expressed its solidarity with the Palestinian people and its firm support for their demands for freedom and independence, affirming that the Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the sanctity of the holy places in this holy month, as well as the arbitrary measures imposed by the Israeli authorities on the residents of occupied Jerusalem and the harassment and forcible displacement of them, for a matter that is rejected and condemned altogether.

His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said in the Sultanate’s speech during the meeting of the League of Arab States Council in an extraordinary ministerial-level session, which was held by video call, that Israel’s continued occupation of Palestinian lands without right, and its continuous violations of international law and human values and norms, is an order. It needs decisive international action from the international community and the Security Council.

His Excellency indicated that seventy years of suffering, pains and tragedies are being waged by the defenseless Palestinian people under the weight of the occupation, without obtaining their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, despite the many and painstaking attempts over the years to establish a just and comprehensive peace, it is truly the greatest human suffering in a world. After the Second World War, the torrential rains have reached, and this suffering will only end of the occupation and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem on the lines of June 4, 1967, and its acquisition of full membership in the United Nations.

His Excellency affirmed that the Sultanate salutes the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their legitimate struggle and calls for achieving peace based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution. – ONA
