Muscat: Oman extended 4-month gap for second dose of Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine
In a statement MOH said: The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to draw the attention of the citizen and residents that the period of giving the second dose of Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine will be extended to be given after four months from the first dose due to the shortage in the global supply and the delay by the manufacturers to export the vaccine.
MOH would like to clarify that the expansion between the two doses in within the duration authorized by the manufacturers to ensure the vaccine effectiveness, as well as part of the adopted Covid-19 protocols, added in the statement
MOH said all person deserving the second dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine will receive an SMS to come to take the immunization.
