Muscat: Oman extends travel ban from India, Pakistan and 13 other countries

Oman’s Supreme Committee on Wednesday has decided to extend travel ban from Sudan, Brazil, Nigeria, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Philippines, and in addition to those coming from these Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.

Those coming from any other country if they have passed through any of these countries during the 14 days preceding the request to enter the Sultanate, provided that this decision shall take effect starting from 2 pm on Saturday 5 June 2021, until further.

The Supreme Committee urges the citizens of the Sultanate not to visit the aforementioned countries during this period. The Supreme Committee stresses that the decisions related to commercial activities in the foregoing aim primarily to mitigate the impact of this pandemic on the private sector, and to stimulate its various activities in a manner that does not conflict with adherence to controls. established to protect individuals and society from Corona disease (Covid 19), and the Supreme Committee calls on those in charge of various economic activities to impose everyone’s commitment to the approved precautionary controls, and the follow-up of compliance with these controls will be tightened by the competent authorities and punish those who violate them, and the committee also confirms that it conducts a permanent review of its decisions according to Data of the epidemiological situation, and according to those data, appropriate decisions are taken, including closing activities and banning movement if the situation so requires; To protect the public health of the community from the dangers of this epidemic.
