Oman fourth among Arab economies in competitiveness Index


Oman makes progress in Arab economies’ Competitiveness Index for 2023: AMF

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman was ranked fourth in the Arab world in the Arab Economies Competitiveness Index for 2023, issued by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF).

The Sultanate came with the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait as the best Arab countries in the economic competitiveness index.

The Sultanate ranked third in the Arab world in the economic freedom sub-index, sixth in the per capita GDP index, and third in the inflation rate index. and third place in low unemployment rate.

The seventh issue of the Arab Economies Competitiveness Report reviews the development of the levels of competitiveness of Arab economies, and highlights the competitive situation of Arab countries during the period 2019-2022, to assess the competitiveness of Arab economies.

The report uses two basic indicators: the macroeconomic index, and the investment environment and attractiveness index. The macroeconomic index measures the extent of achieving macroeconomic stability, including price stability and the implementation of financial and monetary policies.
