Oman Green Hydrogen Summit Highlights Prominent Supply Chain Techs in Green Hydrogen Sector

Muscat: The 3rd edition of Green Hydrogen Summit Oman 2023 (GHSO23) kicked off today at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).

The summit gathers industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators for collaborative discussions on the latest policies, legislation, and cutting-edge technology expediting the energy transition and advancing sustainable energy solutions.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit.

Numerous sessions during the summit covered key topics in clean energy and energy security. The inaugural session, titled “Oman’s Green Hydrogen Mission: From Vision to Action,” included representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and major Omani corporations operating in the energy field, along with the International Energy Agency.

Mohsin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, stated, “Green hydrogen plays a crucial role in the energy transition, alongside its role in energy security and boosting the national economy. Therefore, in Oman, we are working to accelerate the regulation and adoption of green hydrogen production projects, looking forward to producing one million tons by 2030. This summit provides an excellent opportunity for exchanging experiences and knowledge, attracting investment opportunities in the sector, and paving the way for the roadmap we have set for the future of renewable and sustainable energy.”

Moreover, the exhibition accompanying the summit includes 40 local and international companies that showcase the latest projects and modern technologies which are accelerating the rate of energy transformation and booting sustainable energy solutions. – ONA
