Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth & Water Resources says there are 35 factories in various governorates for the production and bottling of pure water in the Sultanate of Oman as of Dec 2021.

The Governorate of Muscat is considered the most governorate in which these factories are located with (9) factories, followed by the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah (8) factories, and then the Governorate of Dhofar (4) factories. The rest is distributed over the North Al Batinah Governorate (3) factories, the South Al Batinah Governorate (3) factories, the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate (3) factories, the Al Buraimi Governorate two factories, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate two factories, and Al Dhahirah Governorate one factory.

The provision of clean, bottled water is one of the civilized manifestations of the modern state, where the demand for water rises as a result of the living expansion and economic and industrial activities. The Ministry deals with these projects in accordance with the technical regulations in force and gives conditional approvals through which the rest of the procedures are completed by the relevant government agencies.

The Ministry is also developing well-studied plans for such projects, by proposing the allocation of water abundance places for the establishment of these projects, and encouraging Omani investors to establish such vital projects.
