Oman has 79 bottled drinking water factories

Muscat: The number of bottled drinking water factories that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources carried out control and supervision tasks until the end of 2022 reached 79.

The ministry stated that the productivity of these factories amounts to approximately 6.2 million liters of water per day.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources indicated that these factories are distributed among 10 factories in Muscat Governorate, 9 in Dhofar Governorate, 4 in Al Buraimi Governorate, 8 in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, 12 in Al Batinah North Governorate, 11 in Al Batinah South Governorate, 4 in Al Dhahirah Governorate, 5 in Al Sharqiyah North Governorate, and 15 in Al Batinah Governorate. Al-Sharqiyah South Governorate and a factory in Al-Wusta Governorate.

The Ministry indicated that the requests for establishing water purification and bottling plants have doubled in recent years. According to statistics, it is clear that the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah has the most bottled drinking water factories, followed by the Governorate of North Al Batinah, then the Governorate of South Al Batinah, and then the Governorate of Muscat.

It is worth noting that the water purification and bottling plants in the Sultanate of Oman are one of the investment projects that are increasing with the increase in population and development, and one of the industrial activities that depend mainly on water, and within the food and water security projects.
